Somethings make sense; paying your bills on time, putting hot sauce in Chili, reading books that haven’t been endorsed by Oprah. Other things don’t, these include the “Absolute Moron Bone”.
In engineering, small protruding surfaces are generally a bad idea because they break off. This all came into far too sharp focus as the Podiatrist was looking at my X-rays.
me: “Man now there’s a poor design.”
him: “What?”
me: “That little bone that sticks out, it makes no sense”
him: “oh yeah, I guess so. It looks like you broke it”
me: “WHAT!?!?”

him: “yeah”
So after a bit of leveling (I basically explained how being imobilized by a cast would surely drive me insane this month) he set me up with the “Body Armour Walker II”, a walking cast.
Hot! Now I look like someone out of Mad Max 2 only with more plastic and less leather. Now here’s the straw that broke the builder’s back, this Wednesday is one of the last Wednesday races with Circuit Breaker (canceled) , this Saturday is the RYC’s “Around the Light Houses race” (Nope can’t make that one either), and the very icing on the cake, This Sunday and Monday is the sailboat show in Annapolis. The last one I’m going regardless, I have a hotel reservation booked a month in advance, and a shopping list of parts. I don’t care if I have to crutch it, I’m going. Originally I was planning to go just Sunday and Monday, but with my recent reduction in walking speed I may want to put in for an extra day. Hmmm
